Moving Forward

The Protection Engineering Group, Inc. is proud to announce that in early June 2006, we will be relocating to new offices at 14900 Bogle Dr., Chantilly, VA 20151. Thanks to the continued support from our ever growing group of loyal clients, we've outgrown our current office space once again. Your support has ensured our continued growth and success and allowed us to further invest in the facilities and technical staff needed to improve our service and value to you. For this, we sincerely thank you. Look for our change of address announcements to arrive in May!

The Protection Engineering Group, Inc. is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members to our team: Matthew J. Batbouta, PE and Jennifer E. Klein, E.I.T. Matt joins the firm as a Fire Protection Engineer with experience in the fields of automatic sprinkler and fire detection and alarm systems design, life safety analysis, building code analysis, and construction administration. Matt is a member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE). Jennifer comes to the PE Group from the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) in Charleston, SC and brings solid experience in the areas of design, testing and inspection, and specification development for a variety of fire protection systems. The addition of Matt and Jennifer to our team underscores our commitment to hiring the best and brightest in the field and continues our focus of providing unparalleled service and technical excellence to our clients.

The PE Group is pleased to announce that our Corporate Director of Security Services, Mr. Mark Hankewycz, CPP has been appointed to the Board of the Building Security Council (BSC).

The BSC, based on the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC) model, was established by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) to provide a multi-faceted building security program that will do for security what the USGBC currently does for sustainability. The BSC will be the center of activity for all things related to building security and will administer and maintain rating systems that enable building owners to evaluate and improve the security of their facilities. The BSC rating systems will consider all components of building security including the physical and personnel issues and represents an opportunity to substantially enhance public safety in the built environment and greatly benefit building owners, lenders and insurers.

Mark is also a Member of both the Building Rating System (developing the rating system to rate buildings) and the Individual Certification (developing the individual practitioner certification to rate buildings) sub-committees. Congratulations, Mark!
