Mr. John O’Neill, PE, FSFPE
Vice President

Mr. O'Neill is a registered Fire Protection Engineer with a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland and over 33 years of specialized experience in the field of fire protection engineering. He is the current Chairman of NFPA’s Technical Correlating Committee on Automatic Sprinklers (NFPA 13) and is a nationally recognized leader in the field of water-based fire protection systems. Mr. O’Neill has extensive experience in the design and installation of sprinkler, standpipe, water supply systems, and other fire suppression systems, as well as the application of building codes as they apply to fire protection systems. He is widely considered a leading “technical expert” in the investigation and evaluation of fire related events involving suppression systems (sprinkler/standpipe, foam-water, underground piping, gaseous and wet-chemical systems).

Throughout his career, Mr. O’Neill has been Principal in charge of some of the most unique fire protection project in recent history, including the protection of the original National Archives, the new National Archives (Archives II), a variety of historically significant Smithsonian Institution facilities and the Wren Building at the College of William & Mary.
