PE Group hires Director of Security Services
As part of our long term strategy to provide security consulting and engineering services to our Government, Institutional and Commercial clientele, The Protection Engineering Group, Inc. is please to announce the hiring of Mark M. Hankewycz, CPP as Director of Security Services. Mark will have primary responsibility for expanding the firm's security services in both existing and new markets.
Mark brings over 20 years of experience as a security professional where he has applied his expertise in planning and implementing integrated electronic security systems such as automated access control, intrusion detection and closed circuit television. He possesses extensive experience in security guard force management, anti-terrorism / force protection, and policy and procedure development . Mr Hankewycz has a proven track record in the safeguarding of assets, security investigations, executive protection, risk and threat analysis, security surveys, emergency and disaster planning and continuity of operations (COOP) planning.
He is an associate member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), and a member of National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). He is a board Certified Protection Professional (CPP) through ASIS and is a member of the NFPA Premises Security Standards Committee (NFPA 730/731) and the Architectural & Engineering Institute's (AEI) Building Security Council (BSC).
Mr. Hankewycz has managed security and safety programs for a variety of Fortune 500 companies and several Federal, Local and County Government agencies. He currently advises architects, professional associations, property managers, insurance firms, the government and other clients on security risk mitigation, state-of-the-art security technology, architectural security design and engineering applications. He has also successfully used Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) techniques and performance based design criteria, developed and written security master, emergency preparedness and disaster recovery plans, conducted numerous security threat and vulnerability assessments and performed multiple liability assessments.
Mr. Hankewycz has written a number of security articles and is a contributing author to FEMA 426 Reference Manual to Mitigate Potential Terrorist Attacks Against Buildings and is a recognized speaker at conferences and seminars for AIA, APPA, ASLA and FEMA.
