Mr. J. Michael Thompson, PE
Principal
Mr. Thompson is a registered Fire Protection Engineer with a B.S. in Fire Protection Engineering from the University of Maryland. He has over 25 years of specialized experience in protecting a wide variety of facilities, with an emphasis on the application of building and fire codes and the design of fire suppression systems. As an active member of the various building and fire safety code organizations, he has developed and processed revisions to the National Building Code (BOCA), the International Building Code (ICC), and the Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).
Mr. Thompson’s technical experience is extremely diverse and includes the design of fire protection and life safety systems, hazardous materials assessments, and long range planning and budgeting of fire protection and life safety systems for large, campus type complexes. He is experienced in the evaluation and design fire protection systems for a wide range of occupancy types in the Commercial, Institutional, Industrial and Government markets. He also possesses unique experience in the area of historic building life safety and property protection. Some recent professional experience includes the design of fire protection systems for the Architect of the Capitol, Penn State University and the Gold Ballroom of the famous Hotel DuPont.
